Tragedy struck at Omuanwa Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area on Tuesday evening when one Tuface, said to be a member of local security outfit, OSPAC operating in the area allegedly shot an Airforce Officer, identified as kashite Eugene to death.
Eugene was also an Indigene of Omuanwa Community.
A source informed City News that trouble started when the leadership of OSPAC in the community started implementing a decision to compel Omuanwa youths to swear an oath against cult membership and involvement in criminal activities as a way of stopping criminality in the area.
Some of the youths were reportedly detained by OSPAC.
The late Airforce officer, City News gathered, went to the OSPAC base to ask that his brother be released.
A fight ensued and he was reportedly shot dead.
Youths of the community as at the time of filing this report have taken over the operation base of OSPAC.
